Someone resting on her parents’ accomplishments this is not. Slowly but surely, without a lot of hoopla, and without the help of her family’s powerful and connected friends, Rashida Jones has “ripped it up” and established herself as an actress and a writer with a solid foundation of work to her credit. “When I see my parents’ friends and they are so happy for me, it seems they’re almost too happy now, because I didn’t call them for favors. They didn’t have to try and help me because I did it on my own.”

Remember a few months back we blogged pictures of Janet Jackson & Chris Brown going to a Naomi Campbell Event. She was celebrating her 25 year career with the help of Dolce and Gabbana. Well to further her 25 year celebrations she is now on the cover of March GQ.

In her own words:

“I don’t read the papers… I sell papers”  (You go girl)

After a 25 years as the world’s most head-turning and headline-grabbing supermodel, Naomi Campbell reveals all to Tony Parsons about blood diamonds, life lessons and why she’s not as scary as you might imagine.

Jimmy Wales, inventor of Wikipedia, the online encyclopaedia that has become a key reference for us all. While one cover features a great businessman, the other focuses on a great artist, Usher, captured at the height of his great comeback, with a megatour and a new album that goes right back to his roots.

We just LOVE Wikipedia – They have been a key reference point when researching people on this blog. Mr Wales we salute you.

Janet is featured on the cover of Upscale Magazine‘s December-January 2011 Issue. We saw this new magazine cover and we had to look twice because it reminded us of her December Health Magazine Cover we blogged about. We know she is friends with Johnny Gill so we dedicate this video to you and all the Gill fans that are reading this post!

Put on your red dress
And slip on your high heels
And some of that sweet perfume
It sure smells good on you
Slide on your lipstick

He tells Vanity Fair magazine

I’m just … nuts. But I think the best [musicians] probably are.” Robinson reports that Bieber considers the “best” to be the Beatles, Michael Jackson, and Tupac. “Music is music, and I’m definitely influenced by Michael Jackson and Boyz II Men and people who were black artists—that’s what I like. But I like their voices and I like how they entertain—it’s not about what color they are.”

“Michael [Jackson] was able to reach audiences from young to old; he never limited himself,” Bieber says of the King of Pop, of whom he has a sticker on his bedroom mirror in his tour bus. “He was so broad, everybody loved him, and that’s what my goal is—to basically make people happy, to inspire them, and to have everyone root for me.”

A FEW QUOTES

“When I did Good Times, they used to bind my chest because I was developing breasts at a young age… It immediately makes you think, ‘The way I am isn’t good enough.’ They thought I was too heavy and that I needed to lose weight. When I look back at the show, I was your average-size kid.”

“I have more of a passion for acting than I do singing, because singing comes so much easier to me. Acting is more of a challenge. I always say to people, ‘I’m really in the wrong business because I don’t like being in front of huge crowds, and I don’t like it when a lot of people are looking at me.”
