MY DADS BIRTHDAY on THE SAME DAY!
I know it was MJ’s birthday on August the 29th but for those of you who have reading this blog since it began 1 year ago, you will also know that my Dad was born on the same day. THE IRONY!
I have to blog about him as he reads it all the time. He tells all his friends about this blog so I HAVE to give him a blog post! Click here to read his birthday post last year.
The day before his birthday (28th) he took me to Millwall Football Stadium in London, where he was a professional football player, back in the day.
I am not a big football fan but it was really amazing because before the match, they brought my Dad onto the pitch and the entire football stadium was clapping and cheering. I felt really proud of him as he was one of the first black players to play for Millwall and he inspired many other black footballers after him. So like MJ, he broke his own racial boundaries for others to be a success today.
