JLS (Jack the Lad Swing) are an English boyband, who were runners-up in the fifth series of ITV reality talent show The X Factor in 2008, coming second to Alexandra Burke. The group consists of Aston Merrygold, Marvin Humes, Jonathan “JB” Gill, and Oritsé Williams. Following their success on The X Factor, JLS signed to Epic Records. Their debut single “Beat Again” was released in the UK on 13 July 2009, and went to number-one in the UK Singles Chart on 19 July 2009, selling over 100,000 copies in its first week of release.
Westlife is an Irish boy band formed on 3 July 1998. The group’s original lineup comprised Nicky Byrne, Kian Egan, Mark Feehily, Shane Filan and Brian McFadden. Currently, Filan and Feehily serve as the band’s lead vocalists. The band is the only act in UK history to have their first seven singles go straight to Number 1, and they have gone on to sell over 43 million records worldwide which includes their studio, single, video, and compilation albums.
They were signed by Simon Cowell and are currently managed by Louis Walsh. In 2008, they were declared as Ireland’s ninth-richest celebrities under 30 years old and 13th in general. They garnered 14 number one singles in the United Kingdom, the third-highest in UK history, tying with Cliff Richard and trailing behind only Elvis Presley and The Beatles. The band has also broken a few top records, including “Music artist with most consecutive number 1′s in the UK”.

Jahmaal Noel Fyffe also known as Chipmunk is a pop artist and former Grime MC from North London. He was regarded as one of the grime scene's best talents, having already released three mixtapes and two promos by the age of 17. Chipmunk was nominated for 'Best Newcomer' at the 2008 MOBO Awards, along with Skepta. Chipmunk went on to win the award.
