Keep On, Keepin’ On is a 1996 single by MC Lyte featuring Xscape. The song, which peaked at #10 on the Billboard Hot 100 in 1996, sampled Michael Jackson’s Liberian Girl, and was featured in the soundtrack of Sunset Park. Unlike all of McLyte’s previous songs, which featured more of a rap beat, Keep On, Keepin’ On had more of an R&B sound. The song also appears on Lyte’s album Bad As I Wanna B.
“Letter 2 My Unborn” is a song by Tupac Shakur, released as a posthumous single from his album Until the End of Time in 2001. It contains a music video that got airplay but was not as successful as the other single from the album. Sampling Michael Jackson’s 1989 song “Liberian Girl” (from Bad, 1987) which featured an array of stars. Tupacs version is at a higher tempo and featuring a female vocal backing track, Tupac tells his child how he lived life and telling his unborn child to stay safe and not get into trouble and end up dead.
