The Guardian Reports…
Michael Jackson’s estate has signed the biggest recording contract in history, nine months after the pop legend’s death.
The $250m (£164m) deal for up to 10 recordings by 2017 represents a huge bet on the singer’s continued popularity with a new generation of listeners who did not grow up at the peak of his stardom.
It gives Sony the rights to sell Jackson’s back catalogue and previously unreleased tracks, and the soundtrack to This is it, the concert movie Jackson was filming when he died from a drug overdose in June, at the age of 50. The arrangement also gives Sony the right to exploit his music in video games, amusement park rides, television adverts, memorabilia, a DVD compilation and elsewhere.

Eye-popping outfits worn by the King, Elvis Presley, and the King of Pop, Michael Jackson, are up for grabs in an online memorabilia auction by the midtown shop Gotta Have It.
Also available for the taking in the gottahaverockandroll.com sale running through March 10 is a gold tunic rocked by Sir Paul McCartney and a polka-dotted waistcoat worn by Prince.
But owning a piece of music history won’t come cheap.
Minimum bids are $10,000 for Elvis’ red suede jacket and $15,000 for Jackson’s vintage orange jumpsuit – and prices could skyrocket as bidders jump in.
“All it takes is two people, till one gets tired or doesn’t want to spend any more money,” said store co-owner Peter Siegel, who said a Presley jumpsuit sold for $300,000 in the shop’s August 2008 auction.

Michael Jackson’s ex-wife Lisa-Marie Presley used to her myspace blog to expose her feelings towards his MJ death. In the blog she revealed that Jackson feared that he would die like her father, Elvis Presley.
“Years ago Michael and I were having a deep conversation about life in general.
I can’t recall the exact subject matter but he may have been questioning me about the circumstances of my Fathers Death.
At some point he paused, he stared at me very intensely and he stated with an almost calm certainty, “I am afraid that I am going to end up like HIM, the way he did.”
I promptly tried to deter him from the idea, at which point he just shrugged his shoulders and nodded almost matter of fact as if to let me know, he knew what he knew and that was kind of that.
14 years later I am sitting here watching on the news an ambulance leaves the driveway of his home, the big gates, the crowds outside the gates, the coverage, the crowds outside the hospital, the Cause of death and what may have led up to it and the memory of this conversation hit me, as did the unstoppable tears.
A predicted ending by him, by loved ones and by me, but what I didn’t predict was how much it was going to hurt when it finally happened.

According to Wiki….“You Are Not Alone”, released in August 1995, is the second single from Michael Jackson’s album HIStory. The R&B ballad was written by R. Kelly in response to difficult times in his personal life. He then forwarded a bare demo tape to Jackson, who liked the song and decided to produce it with Kelly. Jackson’s interest in the song was also linked to recent events in his personal life; highly publicized allegations of child sexual abuse and his recent marriage to Lisa Marie Presley.

The music video begins with a large number of paparazzi taking photographs of Jackson. The plot then centers around two locations: a temple where Jackson appears in an affectionate semi-naked scene with his then wife Lisa Marie Presley and a theater where Jackson performs the song to an empty hall. Jackson also appears alone in other locations such as deserts and mountain tops. It is the first high profile video where Jackson’s hair is cut relatively short. The slightly extended version that appeared on HIStory on Film, Volume II was notable for a scene where Jackson appeared as a guardian angel over his wife, special effects were used to give Jackson white feathery wings.

In one scene, Jackson originally appeared in complete nudity, but just before the video aired a decision was made to use special effects to remove or cover these aspects.
Despite giving the song a positive review, Taraborrelli said of the video, “The only problem with ‘You Are Not Alone’ was the bizarre video for it, in which Michael and Lisa Marie frolic about semi-nude against an ethereal backdrop…The semi-nudity made no sense and was a bit disconcerting; one wished they would put their clothes back on”.
Afterward Presley expressed regret about doing the video, saying she was “sucked up in the moment. It was kind of cool being in a Michael Jackson video. Come on!”.

Strong Genes Elvis
The teenager is seen with slicked hair and heavy eyes that made Elvis so popular in the 1960s and 1970s.
The pictures were taken as Benjamin, who is also a singer, partied at a nightclub in London with his mother Lisa Marie, 41, and grandmother Priscilla, 63.He has already recorded much of his first album and has signed a five-album deal with the record company Universal although the music is said to be very different from that of his grandfather.
The teenager is Lisa Marie’s son with her first husband Danny Keough, a musician whom she married in the late 1980s. The couple also had a daughter, Danielle, but split up after six years.
Benjamin’s grandmother Priscilla married Elvis in 1967 but they divorced six years later.
Lisa Marie, now married to fourth husband, Michael Lockwood, a guitarist and music producer, has enlisted the help of Sheffield musician Richard Hawley to relaunch her music career, according to a report.
She made a surprise appearance on stage during Hawley’s concert at the 02 Shepherd’s Bush Empire in London earlier this month.
The two have embarked on a songwriting partnership in which Lisa Marie writes the lyrics and Hawley the music.

According to Lisa herself, Jackson was a wonderful lover. He was, she said, ‘very hot’ in bed.”
He and Lisa appear to have had an intense and active sex life. She told a friend that he was ‘hot stuff in bed’ and ‘amazing’ - and she should know, the friend added, because ‘she’s been around’. Nevertheless, some of his habits were a little odd.
