Austin Brown, Rebbie Jackson’s son told People magazine that his Auntie Janet is his best friend.
“She is the person that I talk to the most in my family,” he says. “She knows everything about me. If I couldn’t tell my mom, I would tell her. She would take drives with me and talk to me like I was a normal person. When you’re a kid it’s cool to talk to a relative who doesn’t look at you like a kid. She really took the time to spend with me and be a support system. I would call her about problems at school and she would give me sound advice. Janet Jackson’s romance with a billionaire Middle Eastern businessman is heating up, according to US and internet reports.
The singer was spotted cosying up with Wissam Al Mana at a New York restaurant earlier this week.
‘Janet was glowing. They had a corner table and were very cuddly. They seemed very much in love,’ an onlooker said. Really!
‘Wissam picked up the check, and when asked if they’d be back next week, they said they were flying to Paris for Fashion Week.’ We like that Wissam, picking up cheques.
The pair were at upscale gastropub Rabbit In The Moon, in Manhattan’s West Village neighbourhood. Might need to visit next time I’m in NY…
She met Qatari businessman Al Mana, 35, when she performed at an event in the Middle East last December. He took her for a romantic break in Sardinia this summer. Yes we saw the beautiful romantic break pictures, wish we were there.
According to the New York Post, friends credit him with helping her cope with the death of her brother Michael. Awww we like that.
Wissam is director of Al Mana Retail, a shareholder in Saks Fifth Avenue stores in Dubai, Doha, Bahrain and Kuwait. So Wissam is Forbes 500!!!

Janet Jackson is considering signing a deal with an independent record label because she wants to be able to “call the shots”.
The 44-year-old singer ended her contract with Island Def Jam in September 2008, after just 14 months with the label. Janet terminated her deal with the label after her tenth studio album Discipline failed to set the charts alight.
The singer claimed the label did not “support” and promote the record well enough, leading to its failure. She has been without a recording deal since she left Island Def Jam, and is currently looking for a new contract.
She says all the major labels are begging her to sign with them, but she is more interested in a smaller company because that would give her more creative control.
