Spike Lee’s video for Michael Jackson’s ‘This Is It’ is mini retrospective of singer’s life
Will this ever be it?
Yet another “final” send off to Michael Jackson has just been released — the video for the singer’s graceful, posthumous single, “This Is It,” directed by filmmaker Spike Lee.
As you’d expect, it’s a loving scrapbook of Jackson’s life, starting with slow-mo close-ups of his childhood home, before ballooning through his massive, worldwide fame.
Curiously, no sustained shots of his brothers appear, though there’s a lingering one of Jackson with his mother, Katherine.
Lee devoted roughly half the 4-plus minute clip to footage shot since Jackson’s death, with fans caught in mourning and awe, from the Apollo Theater to L.A. and beyond.
In the clip’s most pointed moments, Lee focuses several times on a sign that says “Stop The Hatin’,” referring to the coverage of the controversies in Jackson’s life.
It would be impossible, not to mention censorious, for the media to ignore that aspect of Jackson’s life. But none of that has blotted out the very real love fans hold for the star. Nor has it distracted from Jackson’s key placement in cultural history.
In capturing a nice slice of that, Lee’s video delivers on the warmth it went for.

Biggie Smalls would have said 'You Dead Wrong'
An MTV REPORT. Eminem isn’t making a fan out of Michael Jackson with his new video, which pokes fun at the embattled pop star. The singer has asked video channels to stop playing “Just Lose It,” and BET has since pulled the clip out of rotation.
In the video, Eminem riffs on several Jackson-related themes, from an opening routine reminiscent of “Billie Jean,” to a joke about the 1985 incident in which the singer’s hair caught on fire during the filming of a Pepsi ad. Wearing prosthetic makeup to look like Jackson, Eminem also targets the singer’s molestation scandal by sitting on a bed with boys dancing around him.

The star not amused by Eminem’s Jackson spoof. Stevie Wonder said he was ‘disappointed’ at Eminem’s recent attack on Michael Jackson in the rapper’s “Just Lose It” video.
Speaking to Billboard magazine, the Motown star said the spoof, which Jackson described as “inappropriate and disrespectful”, was “not a good thing”.
“I have much respect for his work, though I don’t think he’s as good as (late rapper) 2Pac. But I was disappointed that he would let himself go to such a level.”
“He has succeeded on the backs of people predominantly in that lower pay bracket, people of color,” the soul legend added. “So for him to come out like that is bull—-.”

Over the years, Chandler subjected himself to a series of cosmetic procedures, satisfying his own vanity and paranoia that Jackson’s fans were coming after him, family sources said.
Years of nips and tucks rendered Chandler virtually unrecognizable from the way he looked in the ’90s.
Chandler regularly self-administered Botox and cosmetic facial fillers.
“He was a handsomer version of Rob Lowe, that’s how drop-dead handsome he was,” a loved one said. “Since he was such a handsome guy, as he got older, he became more obsessive-compulsive about his looks.”
Once a stunningly handsome and prominent Beverly Hills dentist, Chandler saw his life turned upside down by his son’s claims — enduring the collapse of his practice and physical assaults, and driven to disguise himself with repeated plastic surgeries to avoid abuse from rabid Jacko fans.
Jackson was never charged with a crime.
The accusations initially tore Jordan, now 29, apart from his mom, June Chandler, who was blamed for getting him mixed up with Jackson.
But in recent years, that changed, with Jordan reconnecting with his mother at the same time he cut off ties with his father, family sources said.
Jordan claimed his dad attacked him with a dumbbell and got a restraining order against him in fall 2006. They never spoke to each other again.
“Over the years, [Evan] began to develop tremendous mood swings. He was always depressed,” a family member said.
“He stopped coming to family events because he was afraid of being recognized, like anyone in the family would care. That eventually turned into permanent estrangement from his family.”
A New York Post Report and they insist on calling Michael Jackson, Jacko! Why!?!?

The father who sensationally accused Michael Jackson of molesting his 13-year-old son has committed suicide, it was revealed last night.
Former Beverly Hills dentist Evan Chandler was found in bed with a single bullet wound to his head.
Chandler, 65, died in his luxury waterfront flat in Jersey City, New Jersey, on November 5, but details of the death only emerged later in the month.
A police source said the victim was still holding the gun when his body was found.
‘I won’t confirm or deny anything,’ said Chandler’s brother, Raymond, a California lawyer. Jersey City Police confirmed the death.
He missed an appointment with his doctor earlier in the week which prompted concern for his well-being, Jersey City spokesperson Stan Eason said.
After several failed attempts to reach his patient, Chandler’s doctor, who has not been identified, called the building’s superintendent to check on him.

Article Headline: Jacko kids show(NOTE to READERS: When will these people stop calling MJ ‘Jacko’! It is so disrespectful)
Michael wanted privacy for his children. HELLO! They wore MASKS!
The Jackson Family is warring over the inclusion of Michael Jackson’s three children in an upcoming A&E reality show about the clan.
“The Jacksons: A Family Dynasty” is tentatively scheduled to air in December and will include Prince, Paris and Blanket Jackson in the cast, according to a report in Us magazine.
While Janet Jackson is OK with bringing the kids into the show, Jacko’s oldest sibling, Rebbie, 59 — who refuses to be in the show — “feels Michael would spin in his grave if he knew his kids would be on the show,” according to the report.
Michael Jackson, who died June 25 at the of 50, was hugely protective of Prince, 12, Paris, 11 and Prince Michael II, 7, who’s also called “Blanket.” On the rare occasions they ventured out in public, he made the kids wear masks to protect their identities from photographers and gawkers.

PHILLIPS: I want to ask you how are you feeling right now? I know you have been a big supporter of your brother. You have always come out publicly and supported him. What’s going through your mind right now?
JACKSON: Well, first of all, I’d like to say the whole family supports Michael one hundred percent, one thousand percent.
Michael is innocent.
And just to let you know how I feel, I’m very disappointed in the system in which things were done. At the same time, Michael is in very strong spirits because he is innocent.

Deepak Chopra talks frank about his friend MJ. Although we LOVE MJ, I do believe he suffered a whole alot. I like this interview because he explains some of the pain and humiliation Michael Jackson suffered from the hands of cruel people and to me that is what made Michael Jackson’s life tragic. That is what led him to behave in such extreme ways. People were extreme to him! He is only a human being after all and a gentle soul at that! To me Deepak puts some of MJ’s pain and actions into perspective.
Michael we have your back! We also understand… R.I.P

Rabbi Shmuley Boteach writes this article in his HUFFINGTON POST COLUMN
Posted on September 25, 2009 02:09 PM
Rabbi Shmuley Boteach tries to redeem and justify himself as the book he has written ‘The Michael Jackson Tapes’ reignites the EVIL MEDIA WITCH HUNT that made Michael Jackson so so sad…with friends like these who needs enemies!

It was bizarre seeing this morning how hundreds of news sources on the Internet alleged that Michael Jackson admired Hitler and considered him a genius. Nothing could be further from the truth and these scandalous allegations are all based on a simple misrepresentation of a quote from Michael in my book The Michael Jackson Tapes: A Tragic Icon Reveals His Soul in Intimate Conversation. The book debuted only this morning on NBC’s “Today” Show (scroll down to watch). But before I even had the chance to discuss it in the first TV interview, this serious mis-characterization of Michael was spreading everywhere unchecked.
Here is what Michael actually said, as found in our conversations, which were recorded with Michael’s enthusiastic consent for the express purpose of publication in this book:
Hitler was a genius orator. He was [able] to make that many people turn and change and hate. He had to be a showman and he was. Before he would speak, he would pause, drink a bit of water, and then he would clear his throat, and look around. It was what an entertainer would do trying to work out how to play his audience. He would go into this fury of the first words he would say and he would hit them hard. But where did he come from? I know he failed school and he wanted to be an architect. He failed a lot of things. But I think it all happened in prison, the whole Mein Kampf thing, didn’t it?
Not only is there nothing controversial in what Michael is saying, but the point has been made by countless authoritative historians. Hitler was a master showman. He was indeed a brilliant orator who used his considerable charisma to stoke an inferno of hate. It is well known that he practiced his speeches in front of mirrors and had photographers take snapshots of him in different poses that he later studied to determine which were the most effective. He was an evil genius who employed every facet of a darkened soul to bring out the beast in man. And Michael is insightful in pointing out how Hitler studied his audience in order to gain mastery over them the way an entertainer would. It is very surprising that such a straightforward comment has become so controversial.
