Stella McCartney said, “For years now I’ve wanted to create a collection for kids. It’s really exciting for us to do a boys and girls collection with Gap for the first time. I think it has a mix of the playful and practical. I tried to create a whole kids wardrobe. There are pieces that are classic and sort of timeless and hopefully very chic, mixed with more playful and a little bit cooler pieces. It’s a reflection of our brand and a great way to experience it.”

So we were cruising the net, just checking out some of our favourite blogs like www.denimblog.com and we came across these new ‘MJ INSPIRED’ jeans.

They write:

What do you think of these Acne jeans? They remind me a lot of some of the clothes Michael Jackson used to wear. There jeans are also made to order and cost $2000 as they use real silver!

We say:

We love them and thank you so much for keeping us in the loop. We will be watching to see other celebs wearing this trend.

When did it happen that stylists became more important than the clients they dress? These days we hear more about LA superstylist Rachel Zoe than we do about her famous customers. And what about red-carpet stalwart Phillip Bloch? Don’t we see more of him than his perfectly coiffured creations? Surely, the secret to a good stylist is to interpret the talent’s look, not become the talent itself.

There is one who prefers to stay under the radar and allow his handiwork to do the talking. But now, with a rumour swirling that Victoria Beckham wants to get her hands on him to design her new fashion line, the question on everyone’s Botoxed lips from London to LA is:

“Who is Zaldy?”

Short answer: a stylist to the stars and designer of his own line, whose full name is Zaldy Goco.

Slightly longer answer: self- invented creative genius and calming Swami-like character to even the most stressed celebrities seeking his sartorial services. He was the man behind Gwen Stefani’s label LAMB, and is known to all by his first name only.

Michael Jackson apparently loved clothes. But he was no student of fashion, says celebrity stylist extraordinaire, Phillip Bloch, who talked to StyleList about working with the legend.

Bloch styled Jackson for what would turn out to the King of Pop’s final photo shoot, the cover story for the December 2007 issue of Ebony magazine. Over two days Bloch got to know Jackson as a loving and kind person, but also as naif who seemed not to understand his impact on style history.

“Jackson wasn’t up on pop culture or fashion designers,” Bloch says. When the stylist arrived with a well-edited selection of high-end clothing for the photo shoot, the singer admired the clothes, asking if the notoriously British designer Paul Smith was American and whether Japanese clothier Yohji Yamamoto was Italian.
