Did you know that went into overdrive in the 80′s? Ok, probably you did… but did you also know that the greatest Promoter of all time Don King played a key role? What many Boxing fans might not know is that Don King in the 80′s also promoted Michael Jackson… and was the key figure in landing Jackson a contract with Pepsi.

Still, there is Joe Jackson. Though he has not sought a new management contract with his sons, he continues to be closely involved with their careers. In fact, it was Joe who encouraged the Jacksons to work with boxing promoter Don King. But why King? As Branca himself says, ”You’re taking the number-one artist in the world; you would normally want somebody who has some experience in the music business.” Why Don King?

Michael Jackson’s father, Joe Jackson, was on hand to watch the film. He was also there for the dedication of a star to the Jackson family. CEO, Johnny Brenden presented it to him. Don King, Todd Bridges and Rashida Ali were also there for the screening.
I think it says 'Joseph Jackson & Family'. Bless Him (chuckle)
