The ex-wife of Tito Jackson, a member of the singing Jackson clan, recently drowned in a swimming pool in Los Angeles, authorities report.
Delores Martez Jackson, 39, who divorced Toriano “Tito” Jackson in 1988, was pulled from the pool by a boyfriend who remained unidentified at JET press time.
Ms. Jackson was taken to Daniel Freeman Memorial Hospital where she was declared dead, said Deputy Rich Erickson. Investigators believe Ms. Jackson died accidentally, but the coroner will determine the cause of death, Erickson said.
The boyfriend, whose name was withheld by deputies, said he was swimming with Ms. Jackson when he got out of the pool and left briefly, investigators said. He found Ms. Jackson on the bottom of the pool when he returned.
Tito Jackson, 40, married Delores Martez in June 1972 and the couple had two children, Toriano Adaryll Jackson Jr., 21; and Taryll Adren Jackson, 19.
