Apparently Mr Fayed, 78, insisted: “Fulham fans will love it. If some stupid fans don’t understand and appreciate such a gift they can go to hell.

“I don’t want them to be fans. If they don’t understand and don’t believe in things I believe in they can go to Chelsea, they can go anywhere else.

“People will queue to come and visit it from all over the UK and it is something that I and everybody else should be proud of.” The statue – believed to have cost £100,000 – shows MJ in a sparkling jacket and glove.

Saul Hudson better known by his stage name Slash, is a British American musician and songwriter. He is the former lead guitarist of the American hard rock band Guns N’ Roses, with whom he performed and recorded from 1985 to 1996.

Slash has received critical recognition as a guitarist. In August 2009, Time Magazine ranked him #2 on its list of the “10 Best Electric Guitar Players of All-Time”

In 1990, Slash was contacted by Michael Jackson to work on his upcoming album, Dangerous. Slash played lead guitar on the single “Give In to Me”. He also played guitar on “Black or White”. On several occasions, Slash appeared onstage with Jackson, performing “Black or White” during the Dangerous World Tour.

Slash and Jackson appeared together at the MTV 10th Anniversary in 1991, where Michael and Slash performed “Black or White” live for the first time and at 1995 MTV Video Music Awards where Michael performed a medley of his hits while Slash played guitar for “Black or White”.

Slash played guitar on “D.S.”, a controversial song from the HIStory album of 1995 and “Morphine” from the 1997 remix album Blood on the Dance Floor. In 1999 Slash joined Michael to perform 1995 MTV VMA Medley and “Earth Song”, and again in 2001, Slash joined Jackson on stage at the Michael Jackson: 30th Anniversary Special playing guitar while Jackson performed his songs “Black or White” and “Beat It”.

Slash also plays the guitar solo for the Michael Jackson song “Privacy”, of the Invincible album, right after Michael screams: “Slash!”, Michael also does this right before Slash’s solo on “D.S.”

Nicole Scherzinger will always regret turning down the chance to meet her idol Michael Jackson, because she snubbed the rendezvous in favour of an early night.
The Pussycat Dolls star received a phone call from her pal will.i.am several years ago, inviting her to join him while he was recording late at night with the pop superstar.
Scherzinger rejected the offer and opted to go to bed early instead, and now admits she is furious that she missed her only chance to meet Jackson before his untimely death in 2009.
She tells Britain’s Capital FM, “(I regret missing) the opportunity to meet Michael Jackson. My friend will.i.am was working with him. He said, ‘Come on I want you to meet Michael.’
“It was late and I had to get up early next day and make sure my voice was OK. I missed the opportunity. That’s what I lost.”

latimes.com report,

The California medical board has reprimanded Michael Jackson’s personal physician for failing to notify Nevada medical board officials that he had fallen behind in his child support payments, echoing a previous reprimand issued against the doctor by the Nevada board last year.

Dr. Conrad Murray failed to notify the Nevada State Board of Medical Examiners that his child support payments were in arrears as required when he renewed his medical license in 2007 and 2009, according to the California board’s public letter of reprimand, filed Friday and made public Monday.

The letter noted that Murray’s actions constituted a violation of California law concerning “unprofessional conduct,” grounds for a reprimand.

A public reprimand is a lesser form of discipline doctors can negotiate for minor violations to avoid formal charges.

Murray has pleaded not guilty to involuntary manslaughter charges in connection with Jackson’s death.

In the early 80′s, Freddie Mercury (the late lead singer of Queen) recorded 3 songs with Michael Jackson.

Michael Jackson and Queen were fairly good friends (according to Queen drummer Roger Taylor, it was Jackson who suggested they release “Another One Bites the Dust” as a single. It was the band’s biggest hit in the U.S.)

Anyway, Freddie stopped by Jackson’s house to work on a few songs. They were “Victory”, State of Shock and “There Must Be More to Life than This”. The demos were ran through a few times but sadly left unfinished as both men had their own tours/albums to work on.

In an interview with a Belgian magazine Roger Tayler says “We are now working on some never-before-released songs that Freddy made with Michael in the early 80′s. I’m not allowed to say too much about it but they sound incredible!”.

With all that is going on in Libya & Japan we reflect back on the words from Michael Jackson’s Earth Song and we ask ourselves...

What have WE done to the world?

Did you ever stop to notice
All the blood we’ve shed before
Did you ever stop to notice
The crying Earth the weeping shores?

Did you ever stop to notice
All the children dead from war
Did you ever stop to notice
The crying Earth the weeping shores

The following statement comes from Michael Jackson’s estate regarding the Michael Jackson catalogue and Sony/ATV music:

Yes, there is a matching right that Michael granted to Sony/ATV but they only get to administer the catalog for a limited term AND only if they agree to unprecedented favorable terms. We will not relinquish ultimate control and ownership to anyone. We have favorably refinanced the loans on Mijac which will be paid off and the catalog WILL absolutely be passed to Michael’s children as long as we have anything to say about it.

Sony/ATV is a great company and the Estate owns half of it but no one, not even Sony/ATV, will ever own Mijac while John McClain and I remain in charge.

The current Sony team is the one Michael chose to work with on the Thriller 25 release and they are good partners. As stated in the recent court filings, they worked with us to refinance the burdensome debt that had been placed on Michael’s interest in Sony/ATV to very favorable terms, an important achievement which insures that Mijac and Michael’s masters remain secure for the benefit of Michael’s children for years to come.
