Michael Jackson’s ex-wife Lisa-Marie Presley used to her myspace blog to expose her feelings towards his MJ death. In the blog she revealed that Jackson feared that he would die like her father, Elvis Presley.

“Years ago Michael and I were having a deep conversation about life in general.
I can’t recall the exact subject matter but he may have been questioning me about the circumstances of my Fathers Death.

At some point he paused, he stared at me very intensely and he stated with an almost calm certainty, “I am afraid that I am going to end up like HIM, the way he did.”

I promptly tried to deter him from the idea, at which point he just shrugged his shoulders and nodded almost matter of fact as if to let me know, he knew what he knew and that was kind of that.

14 years later I am sitting here watching on the news an ambulance leaves the driveway of his home, the big gates, the crowds outside the gates, the coverage, the crowds outside the hospital, the Cause of death and what may have led up to it and the memory of this conversation hit me, as did the unstoppable tears.

A predicted ending by him, by loved ones and by me, but what I didn’t predict was how much it was going to hurt when it finally happened.

Here are 2009′s top entertainment stories as voted by U.S. newspaper and broadcast editors surveyed by The Associated Press.

1. MICHAEL JACKSON DIES:

On June 25, Jackson was pronounced dead at the age of 50. One of the most momentous and shocking deaths in pop culture history, the event reverberated in many ways. There was the ongoing investigation: Jackson’s death was ruled a homicide, and his personal physician, Dr. Conrad Murray, who says he’s innocent of wrongdoing, is being investigated for manslaughter. There was the gigantic Los Angeles funeral. There was the documentary, “This Is It,” of Jackson’s preparations for a comeback concert series. But, perhaps most of all, there was the celebration of his music, on stages and sidewalks the world over.

MTV WRITES….

Michael Jackson

Where were you when you heard the news? It’s a question reserved for only the biggest of moments, and it’s usually not asked fondly. And that was the case with the death of Michael Jackson, an event that stopped the world in its tracks.

That’s not hyperbole, either. Jackson’s death on June 25 was a global event, bringing traffic in Times Square to a standstill, turning London’s O2 Arena — where he was scheduled to hold a 50-show residency — into an impromptu memorial site, filling the streets of Paris, Berlin and Dakar, Senegal, with mourners. His fans gathered because they didn’t know what else to do — so deep was their grief that they sought out the solace of strangers, their only connection the undying devotion to a man and his music, both of which, on one solemn day, disappeared forever.

It was an awful tragedy. Jackson’s legacy — not just his music or his effortless showmanship, but his charitable work too — extended to every corner of the earth, reached places even the United Nations dared not tread. Even as his popularity waned here in the States (and waned is a relative term, considering, even though he hadn’t released an album of new material in nearly a decade, his catalog still sold millions each year), he remained the most famous man on the planet, a near-deity seemingly lifted from the pulpy pages of a Siegel and Shuster comic, or, perhaps more correctly, a Greek tragedy.

Jordan_Chandler

The father who sensationally accused Michael Jackson of molesting his 13-year-old son has committed suicide, it was revealed last night.

Former Beverly Hills dentist Evan Chandler was found in bed with a single bullet wound to his head.

Chandler, 65, died in his luxury waterfront flat in Jersey City, New Jersey, on November 5, but details of the death only emerged later in the month.

A police source said the victim was still holding the gun when his body was found.

‘I won’t confirm or deny anything,’ said Chandler’s brother, Raymond, a California lawyer. Jersey City Police confirmed the death.

He missed an appointment with his doctor earlier in the week which prompted concern for his well-being, Jersey City spokesperson Stan Eason said.

After several failed attempts to reach his patient, Chandler’s doctor, who has not been identified, called the building’s superintendent to check on him.

Artist David Ilan explained: “Everybody that signs up for free gets one dot in the portrait. I put one dot in at a time by hand with a pen on the canvas. There are 17,000 dots that I have placed so far, and 250,000 that have already signed up so I have some catching up to do. We are going to get to a million very soon. Everyone is welcome to join.” Ilan adds, “The portrait is in 168 countries so far. It is past every border. There is Palestinian to Israeli territory – everywhere that you can imagine: Iraq, Iran. They are all coming together to work together to create this image of Michael Jackson. The portrait is going to go on a world tour then it will find a home somewhere. It is going to be announced pretty soon.”

David Ilan discusses the amount of web hits that the tribute website gets each day. Ilan says: “Per user, we are getting more hits than Facebook and MySpace. People are really coming together using the site. It is a place for everybody to get together to mourn. The coolest thing is that people are coming in from everywhere. If they can’t get to any other tribute, or they are in a small town somewhere – everyone can be part of this tribute and get their dot placed in the tribute.
