The Critics & MJ

Three of Michael Jackson’s former bodyguards said they do not believe the accusations that the late King of Pop was a child molester — rather, he was fond of the ladies.

“Being a father myself, and being a man — men know men — he had the desires for women like we do,” bodyguard Bill Whitfield said in an exclusive interview broadcast Tuesday on Good Morning America, adding that the Thriller singer often had women in the back of his limousine.

“We had a curtain that covered in the backseat,” Whitfield said. “We couldn’t see in the backseat — they’d talk back there and you know…”

The bodyguards are planning on writing a book about Jackson they intend to call In Defense Of The King.

ABC is planning on broadcasting more clips from their interview with the bodyguards on ABC’s Nightline Tuesday night.

Article Headline: Michael Jackson: What did the superstar say to the presenter?
Article Date: March 6th, 2009
Article Source: blogs.telegraph.co.uk

I guess the question of whether people are still interested in seeing Michael Jackson has been comprehensively answered by news that the dedicated Jackson O2 website has been creaking under the strain of 16,000 fans visiting every second.

Which must be a relief for all concerned, cause the public wasn’t looking quite so interested at 4 o’clock yesterday afternoon. His carefully stage-managed appearance at the O2 arena seems to have done the trick, by putting Jackson on our screens and in our inboxes, with a luxurious red backdrop, flashing lights and a big crowd of noisy fans. Even though, from the perspective of someone actually standing in the cavernous, cold O2 lobby, it was all smoke and mirrors.

In the video, various acts of torture are displayed, and various members of the band are usually on the receiving end. At some points, the video looks like a horror movie.

Later in the video, a group of skeletons that are supposed to represent the Jacksons, are shown dancing. Neither Michael nor Jermaine appears in the video. Michael was busy with other obligations and Jermaine refused to be in the video.

The rest of the group decided to film the video without them. In replacement of Michael, a wax dummy in his likeness was used in the video. The dummy was used in three separate sequences, including the ending sequence that shows the rest of the group standing in a shot similar to the album’s cover.

The television show, PM Magazine, was the show where the discovery was first made. They slowed down the video at the exact points where the dummy appears in the video, and pointed out the differences.

Jeff Stein directed the music video and Al Kirschman was the scenic designer for the video. Jackie also oversaw the production of the video, acting as an advisor. Paula Abdul became the choreographer for the video. Abdul was a Laker Girl at the time. It was also due to the success of the video that Abdul was chosen to be the choreographer for the Jacksons’ Victory tour.

Biggie Smalls would have said 'You Dead Wrong'

An MTV REPORT. Eminem isn’t making a fan out of Michael Jackson with his new video, which pokes fun at the embattled pop star. The singer has asked video channels to stop playing “Just Lose It,” and BET has since pulled the clip out of rotation.

In the video, Eminem riffs on several Jackson-related themes, from an opening routine reminiscent of “Billie Jean,” to a joke about the 1985 incident in which the singer’s hair caught on fire during the filming of a Pepsi ad. Wearing prosthetic makeup to look like Jackson, Eminem also targets the singer’s molestation scandal by sitting on a bed with boys dancing around him.

The star not amused by Eminem’s Jackson spoof.  Stevie Wonder said he was ‘disappointed’ at Eminem’s recent attack on Michael Jackson in the rapper’s “Just Lose It” video.

Speaking to Billboard magazine, the Motown star said the spoof, which Jackson described as “inappropriate and disrespectful”, was “not a good thing”.

“I have much respect for his work, though I don’t think he’s as good as (late rapper) 2Pac. But I was disappointed that he would let himself go to such a level.”

“He has succeeded on the backs of people predominantly in that lower pay bracket, people of color,” the soul legend added. “So for him to come out like that is bull—-.”

EvanOver the years, Chandler subjected himself to a series of cosmetic procedures, satisfying his own vanity and paranoia that Jackson’s fans were coming after him, family sources said.

Years of nips and tucks rendered Chandler virtually unrecognizable from the way he looked in the ’90s.

Chandler regularly self-administered Botox and cosmetic facial fillers.

“He was a handsomer version of Rob Lowe, that’s how drop-dead handsome he was,” a loved one said. “Since he was such a handsome guy, as he got older, he became more obsessive-compulsive about his looks.”

Once a stunningly handsome and prominent Beverly Hills dentist, Chandler saw his life turned upside down by his son’s claims — enduring the collapse of his practice and physical assaults, and driven to disguise himself with repeated plastic surgeries to avoid abuse from rabid Jacko fans.

Jackson was never charged with a crime.

The accusations initially tore Jordan, now 29, apart from his mom, June Chandler, who was blamed for getting him mixed up with Jackson.

But in recent years, that changed, with Jordan reconnecting with his mother at the same time he cut off ties with his father, family sources said.

Jordan claimed his dad attacked him with a dumbbell and got a restraining order against him in fall 2006. They never spoke to each other again.

“Over the years, [Evan] began to develop tremendous mood swings. He was always depressed,” a family member said.

“He stopped coming to family events because he was afraid of being recognized, like anyone in the family would care. That eventually turned into permanent estrangement from his family.”

A New York Post Report and they insist on calling Michael Jackson, Jacko! Why!?!?

The father who sensationally accused Michael Jackson of molesting his 13-year-old son has committed suicide, it was revealed last night.

Former Beverly Hills dentist Evan Chandler was found in bed with a single bullet wound to his head.

Chandler, 65, died in his luxury waterfront flat in Jersey City, New Jersey, on November 5, but details of the death only emerged later in the month.

A police source said the victim was still holding the gun when his body was found.

‘I won’t confirm or deny anything,’ said Chandler’s brother, Raymond, a California lawyer. Jersey City Police confirmed the death.

He missed an appointment with his doctor earlier in the week which prompted concern for his well-being, Jersey City spokesperson Stan Eason said.

After several failed attempts to reach his patient, Chandler’s doctor, who has not been identified, called the building’s superintendent to check on him.

Album Cover You_Are_Not_Alone
Chart performance

Commercially, “You Are Not Alone“, remains one of Jackson’s best selling singles. It holds the Guinness World Record for the first song ever to debut at number one on the Billboard Hot 100 chart.

First week sales were 120,000 copies, it was certified platinum by the RIAA for shipments of at least one million units within the US.

It broke the record set by his previous single “Scream/Childhood”, which was the first song in the 37 year history of Billboard to debut at number five—where it peaked.

It peaked at number one in the UK after a debut at number three in the prior week.

The song also reached number one in Wallonia, France, New Zealand, Spain and Switzerland. With the exception of Italy, it became a top ten hit in every major market.

Rev. Al Sharpton 1

Here are the words spoken by Rev. Al Sharpton at the Michael Jackson Memorial Service.

“All over the world today people are gathered in love vigils to celebrate the life of a man that taught the world how to love. People may be wondering why there is such an emotional outburst, but you would have to understand the journey of Michael to understand what he meant to all of us.

For these that sit here as the Jackson family, a mother and father with nine children that rose from a working class family in Gary, Indiana, they had nothing but a dream. No one believed in those days that these kind of dreams could come true. But they kept on believing, and Michael never let the world turn him around from his dreams.”

Paul Anka: RSVP

Paul, if MJ did not take the masters I would have never known who you were! All this publicity! PS: That other version…not so much.

This Report comes from the TIMES ONLINE. They were a tad ‘cheeky’. So I just deleted the ‘cheek’ and tried to stick to the FACTS!

This Is It is the first song from a treasure trove of unreleased material left behind by Michael Jackson before the pop icon’s untimely death.

But as with so many things involving the late singer, the wildly hyped release of This Is It quickly descended amid claims that the tune was stolen from the My Way songwriter Paul Anka, and, worse, that it had already been released 18 years earlier by an obscure Puerto Rican singer named Sa-Fire.

With Anka threatening to sue Jackson’s estate, the administrators quickly granted him a credit in the liner notes and 50 per cent of the copyright, a move that could make the Canadian songwriter millions of dollars.

“They realise it’s a mistake, they realise it’s my song, and they realise it’s my production of his [Michael Jackson’s] vocal in my studio, and I am getting 50 per cent of the whole project, actually, which is fair,” Anka said in a video posted on the TMZ entertainment website yesterday.

The song was supposed to be included on one of the Canadian artist’s own albums, but two men reportedly fell out, and Jackson took the master tapes, although Anka eventually got them back and gave the tune to Sa-Fire, who released it as I Never Heard in 1991.
