Superproducer Quincy Jones, while doing publicity for his new album, has been asked a lot of questions about the state of pop music today. While he’s been complimentary towards some artists (and dismissive of others), there’s one subject he is unequivocal about: The new Michael Jackson album should not see the light of day.
“No way it should be coming out,” Jones said of the posthumous album, titled Michael. “It should have all stayed in the vault…It seems like everybody is trying to put everything out that they can with him. I don’t understand it. It’s all to make money. He wouldn’t have wanted it to come out this way.”

On rapper Kanye West, and his title of “producer”: “Did he write for a symphony orchestra? Does he write for a jazz orchestra? Come on, man. He’s just a rapper … There’s no comparison. I’m not putting him down or making a judgment or anything, but we come from two different sides of the planet.”
On pop sensation Lady Gaga: “She’s great. … Gaga is like Madonna Jr. A lot of people follow Madonna.”
Jones also singled out Ludacris, Akon and Usher as artists who have that extra spark.

I agree with Quincy. As much as I want to hear the album, every time I get on the tube and see the posters, I feel uncomfortable.

True that!!!! I think it is a mistake. I know MJ was in financial debt, but that crap “Breaking News”…bad move – yeah –”Breaking News” The executive of MJ estate, just cost the estate millions because of greed!!!!!
I’ve said from the beginning it’s unreleasable!!!! I seen a candid video of Quincy and Roger Freidman on http://www.showbix411.com. Quincy was asked about the CD and said you can’t tell it’s MJ because it’s too stacked!!! Something not right with this!!!! They would do anything for the MONEY!!!!!
I like the song ‘Breaking News’ and ‘Hold My Hand’ though.
The album I don’t know if I’ll be getting it anytime soon. :-/
